WARRIORS FACE OFF WITH OAKLAND FOR NCAA DI MATCHUP
ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Warriors (8-9) return to Michigan for their first game in the mitten state, facing off with NCAA DI opponent Oakland University (4-10) on Tuesday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m. The Warriors come in off a 4-1 week last week and will look to bounce back from a loss to Trinity Baptist on Saturday.
The Warriors are 1-4 all-time against the Golden Grizzlies, with the last win occurring in 2011. The Golden Grizzlies come off a 1-2 weekend against Texas-Rio Grande Valley, bringing in several players featured in last year's matchup, including Second Team All-Horizon League nominee Ian Cleary and junior Brandon Nigh.
RCU has had a lot of success at-bat lately, with several players hitting home runs over the previous week. First baseman Jack LaRue has been on fire, hitting another home run in the Warriors' 14-2 win over Valley City State. Additionally, Raymond Perez III has had a stellar season out at shortstop, being a focal point in many double plays and key outs for the Warriors in their contests. Pitcher Ryan Polega has made his mark to start his Warrior career, amassing a 3-1 record with a team-leading 24 strikeouts this season.
