EARLY SECOND HALF GOAL PUTS WARRIORS BEHIND LOURDES

SYLVANIA, Ohio - An early second-half goal doomed the Warriors (0-3-1, 0-1-0) against the Lourdes Gray Wolves (2-4-1, 1-0-0) on the road on Wednesday night, putting the Warriors down 1-0. Goalkeeper Kris Tauzik continued his string of excellent games, recording ten saves on 11 shots on goal to keep the Warriors close for the entirety of the contest. 

THE RUNDOWN

FIRST HALF

  • Midfielder Milos Stojakovic got the Warriors' attack going with a shot on goal three minutes into the first half. The Gray Wolves countered with plenty of pressure, sending multiple shots at Tauzik who continued his strong string of saves. The Warriors were out-shot 16-6 in the half but were able to keep things at a draw before the first-half buzzer

SECOND HALF

  • Lourdes took an early lead to start the half up one, and things slowed to a defensive crawl with a combined 11 shots between the two teams. RCU saw a couple of shots on goal nearly get past the Gray Wolves but ultimately found themselves down in a loss for this one

UP NEXT

The Warriors will return home on Saturday, Sept. 21, to face Northwestern Ohio at 2 p.m. at Michigan Stars Sports Center.
