(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian University Men's Soccer team opened up its 2025 season on Thursday evening when they traveled to #14 Spring Arbor. The Warriors battled throughout the game, putting up five shots throughout the 90 minutes of play, but would ultimately fall to the Cougars, 3-0.
Kris Tauzik got the start in goal for RCU and played the full 90 minutes. Tauzik made five saves throughout the game.
Following the first RCU corner kick of the game, Spring Arbor responded with a quick counterattack, where they would tally the first goal of the game after just 11 minutes of play.
Both sides continued to fire shots at one another, but SAU struck again 10 minutes later. Neither team was able to score another goal as the score was 2-0 at halftime.
The Cougars would tally the hat trick five minutes into the second half for the 3-0 lead. The Warriors' defense was able to hold off the rest of the match, as the score held as is for the final 40 minutes of play.
Ivan Sotjanovic led the attacking end with three shots (one on goal), while Andrija Mitkovic and Milos Stojakovic each tallied a shot, as Stojakovic's was on frame.
Following tonight's match, the Warriors will be back in action on August 30th as they play host to Albion College with a 6 PM kickoff.
