Men's Soccer draws with Michigan-Dearborn

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The Rochester Christian men's soccer team returned home to take on the Wolverines of Michigan-Dearborn. The two teams battled back and forth throughout the match, with four separate times seeing an even score. An Ivan Stojanovic penalty kick goal in the 84th minute was the score that created the draw.

The Warriors maintained control of possession throughout the first 20 minutes of the match. Nearly five minutes into the match, Shadrack Onyango got RCU on the board after he intercepted a pass back to the UMD goalie. 20 minutes later, the Wolverines would tie the match following a penalty kick.

RCU once again began the half, netting the goal to grab the lead off a shot from Milos Stojakovic, who took a pass from Ivan Stojanovic. UMD followed up about 10 minutes later with its second penalty kick goal of the game, followed up with a score off a corner kick to grab a 3-2 lead.

The game would see its third tie of the game when Kristoff Mannie rolled a ball past a diving UMD goalie. Shadrack Onyango would receive an assist on the play. Just over a minute later, UMD grabbed a 4-3 lead off a cross from the outside to the middle of the field.

With just over six minutes remaining in the match, a UMD foul just inside the 18-yard box would give Ivan Stojanovic the chance to tie the match for the fourth time. Stojanovic was able to narrowly beat the keeper to grab his third point of the day.

Kris Tauzik (1-10-2) played the full 90 minutes in net, making five saves against the nine shots he faced.
