WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS INDIANA TECH 1-0

FORT WAYNE, MI - Women's Soccer (9-1-0, 3-0-0) continued its winning streak on Saturday afternoon, defeating Indiana Tech (2-6-1, 0-2-1) 1-0 to extend the streak to eight games. Rochester's defense was stout throughout the contest, only allowing two shots in total for Indiana Tech.

While the score was only 1-0, Rochester had plenty of shot opportunities throughout the contest, with 12 shots on goal out of 25 overall. Rochester's first half was almost a little frustrating on the offensive end, primarily due to several shots being stymied by Indiana Tech's goalkeeper.

Fortunately for the Warriors, a shot would see the back of the net in the second half, where sophomore midfielder Mya Freeland would get a solo goal in the 46th minute. From then on, the game was much of the same for Rochester, with any shot at goal being halted by great goalkeeper play. However, Rochester's defense ensured to return the favor, not allowing Tech to find any opportunities on the Warriors' end of the pitch.

UP NEXT

Rochester will travel to Grand Rapids for a pivotal matchup against #4 Aquinas (8-0-1, 3-0-0). Both teams have had excellent starts to conference play, with this matchup possibly having major postseason implications.
