ANN ARBOR, Mich. - On Wednesday afternoon in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Warriors (1-2-3, 1-0-0) had a phenomenal day. RCU defeated Concordia (MI) (0-1-0, 0-1-0) 7-0 in their WHAC opener - the most goals scored by RCU in a WHAC game since the school joined the conference. RCU was all over the offensive side of the pitch, shooting 28 shots on goal. Sophomore Haley Bennett led the way for the Warriors with two goals.
THE RUNDOWN
FIRST HALF
- The Warriors sent a bunch of shots at the Cardinal net that weren't finding their way in, but senior Faith Staley opened things up 16 minutes in with a beautiful power shot into the top right corner of the net. RCU continued to attack, with Bennett getting her first goal on a well-timed breakaway pass from forward Mya Freeland. RCU continued to add shots in the first half, but wasn't able to expand the lead before halftime
SECOND HALF
- The goals started to rain in for the Warriors in the second half, beginning with junior Jenna Schodowski finding defender Kennedy Fraser for the Warriors' third goal of the day. After several minutes of constant shots by the Warriors, the lead grew with Olivia Howes finding Laila Vanhoorelbeke for the team's fourth goal
- Freeland added another goal in the 66th minute, followed by a second goal from Bennett four minutes later. Howes tallied her second assist with a perfect pass to senior defender Bella Ames, who scored her first goal of the season

RCU's seven team goals are the most the team has ever scored in a single WHAC contest.
