FRASER, Mich. - The Warriors (0-2-0, 0-2-0) fell in their home opener to Michigan-Dearborn (2-0-0, 2-0-0) 1-9 on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Big Boy Arena. After a close first and second period, the Wolverines pushed past the Warriors in the third to take the game and win the first two games of the season series with the Warriors.
THE RUNDOWN
FIRST PERIOD
- Michigan-Dearborn got two goals to go five minutes into the first period, but the Warriors found an answer from Aidan Baker for the first goal of the season on a tightly contested night. The Wolverines tacked on another goal to take a 3-1 lead heading into the second.
SECOND PERIOD
- Both teams locked things down in the second period, with goalkeeper Dominic Carnaghi making a series of impressive saves to prevent the Wolverines from adding points. The Wolverines continued to fire shots the Warriors' way, getting one to go nine minutes into the period. The Warriors headed into the third period down 4-1.
THIRD PERIOD
- The Wolverines found some momentum in the third period, scoring multiple goals while keeping the Warriors at bay. RCU put up eight shots in the period but couldn't find an answer before the final horn
