WHAC RELEASES MEN'S BOWLING HONORS FOR 24-25 SEASON

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference has announced the 2024-25 season men's bowling awards, with five Warriors named to the WHAC All-Academic Team. For the Warriors, Brian Shimabukuro was named the team's Champions of Character representative for this season.

The Warriors placed ninth of 11 teams in the third Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season, bowling 5461 pins as a team. Michael Pupin led the Warriors with a 26th-place finish, bowling 616 pins in three games.

WARRIORS PLACE SECOND IN BGSU FALCON CLASSIC

November 16, 2024

It was a very successful weekend for the Warriors during the BGSU Falcon Classic, with RCU varsity men's bowling placing second of 11 teams and JV men's bowling placing first of four teams. For Warrior varsity, Tylan Kim-Arellano led with a total score of 922 and a sixth-place finish, followed closely behind by Brian Henry, who placed eighth with a score of 917. As a team, the Warriors scored 6323 pins, trailing winners Spring Arbor with 6494.

The Warriors wrapped up the first two American Heartland Bowling Association events of the season with two impressive showings, placing fifth and third in AHBA's #1 and #2, respectively. The Warriors were led by Brian Henry and Tylan Kim-Arrellano at both events.

Warrior bowlers Evan Eagle and Sara Ritchie earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Bowler of the Week honors following their Columbia 300 Western Shootout performances on Oct. 12.

The Warriors placed 16th of 31 teams in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout on Oct. 12, bowling 6057 total pins and 3139 baker pins. Leading the way for the Warriors was freshman Evan Eagle, who placed eighth of 339 bowlers in the event, bowling 1359 pins in six games.

MEN'S BOWLING PLACES 22ND IN MIDWEST COLLEGIATE CLASSIC

The Warriors placed 22nd in the Midwest Collegiate Classic on Saturday afternoon, bowling 8090 pins in a field of 53 teams. The Warriors saw their top performance come from junior Brian Henry, who bowled 989 pins in five games, including a day-high of 222 pins in the fifth game.

WARRIORS PLACE TENTH IN SEASON DEBUT AT WHAC JACKSON OPEN

The Warriors placed tenth of 14 teams at the season-opening WHAC Jackson Open on Saturday, Sept. 28. During the event, which consisted of three team games followed by 16 baker games, the Warriors bowled 5370 pins as a team.

The 2024-25 RCU bowling schedule has been released. It features 17 events, beginning with the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Jamboree of the season on Sept. 28. The Warriors will host the Warrior Classic on Nov. 23 at Richfield Lanes in Flint, Mich.
