SIX WARRIORS NAMED TO WHAC ALL-ACADEMIC IN HOCKEY AWARDS RELEASE

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference has released its 2024-25 men's ice hockey season awards, with six Warriors named as All-Academic selections for this season. RCU's Ryan Long was named as the team's Champions of Character representative for this season.

WARRIORS' SEASON ENDS IN WHAC TOURNAMENT OPENING ROUND AGAINST #2 MICHIGAN-DEARBORN

The Warriors' 2024-25 season has come to its conclusion following a 12-1 loss in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Opening Round on Friday night at Indiana Tech. The Warrior offense wasn't able to convert on their looks to counter the Michigan-Dearborn attack.

WARRIORS FALL IN MATCHUPS AGAINST MICHIGAN-DEARBORN

February 14, 2025

The Warriors fell in their final two games of the 2024-25 regular season against the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines on Friday and Saturday. Both games saw the Wolverines start hot against the Warriors, who couldn't figure things out offensively and counter the Michigan-Dearborn attack.

WARRIORS DROP GAMES TO LAWRENCE TECH

Over the weekend, the Warriors fell short in their two games against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. Five different Warriors scored goals in the action, with Jake Mullins adding two assists in the weekend's second game.

WARRIORS CELEBRATE SENIORS IN WEEKEND AGAINST AQUINAS

February 01, 2025

The Warriors took the time to celebrate seniors Kyle Banks, Connor Maloney, and Ryan Long during their weekend against the Aquinas Saints, highlighting the trio before the weekend's second game. The Warriors fell in both contests, with the home matchup ending by an overtime goal in favor of the Saints, 3-2.

WARRIORS COME UP JUST SHY IN LOSSES TO CONCORDIA

January 25, 2025

The Warriors put up a fight in their two games against the Concordia Cardinals over the weekend, falling short in both games after formidable efforts in the first and second periods of each contest. Shaun Zatelli led the Warriors in scoring during the series with two goals, while goalies Nicholas Spognardi and Connor Maloney combined for 78 total saves in their outings.

WESTBOUND WARRIORS: RCU TAKES ON OREGON ACHA PROGRAM OUTDOORS

January 10, 2025

Following a long flight out west, the Warriors return to action on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 to face the Oregon Ducks ACHA hockey program in two exciting matchups outdoors at The Pavilion, with puck drop occurring at 10 a.m. on both days. RCU comes back to play following their winter break period, last facing the Cleary Cougars on Dec. 7.

The Warriors returned from their trip to Oregon to face the Oregon Ducks, marking the longest trip taken by an RCU team since 2020. After arriving on Jan. 8 following a long flight, RCU hockey got together and prepped for the games in the Hampton Inn

WARRIORS FALL TO COUGARS IN TWO-GAME WEEKEND

The Warriors fell behind in their two matchups over the weekend against the Cleary Cougars, unable to overcome early rallies by the Cougars. Four different players scored goals in the two games, including three goals in the weekend's first matchup.

In a release by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference earlier this afternoon, sophomore Warrior goalkeeper Nicholas Spognardi has earned his second career WHAC Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week award following his performances against Mercyhurst over the weekend.

WARRIORS SPLIT GAMES WITH MERCYHURST BEHIND PERFORMANCES FROM SAVEL, SPOGNARDI

November 22, 2024

The Warriors split games in their second and third installments against Mercyhurst University over the weekend, with the Warriors getting a 4-2 victory on Friday behind big performances on both sides of the ice. In the second game, RCU fell 4-2 to the Lakers. RCU's Cole Zalewski and Maxximus Savel lead on the offensive front, with Zalewski assisting Savel on two goals in the Warriors' victory, with Zalewski scoring the Warriors' two goals in the loss.

WARRIORS HANDED TWO LOSSES BY LAWRENCE TECH

November 16, 2024

The Warriors weren't able to counter a strong offensive attack from the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Nov. 15 and 16, falling 11-5 and 14-0 on the road and at home, respectively. In the first game, forward Kyle Hauer scored two goals to help the Warriors find some rhythm early in the third period.

WARRIORS FACE OFF WITH #30 LAWRENCE TECH

The Warriors will challenge the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils for the first time this season on Friday and Saturday. RCU seeks its first conference win of the season following losses to Concordia and Aquinas in the last two weeks.

WARRIORS FALTER AGAINST AQUINAS IN TWO GAMES

The Warriors fell behind in both games over the weekend against the Aquinas Saints. The Saints took advantage of large scoring runs to take the Warriors out of the contest. Shaun Zatelli led the Warriors' scoring attack, scoring two goals in the weekend's first installment.

THIRD PERIOD SURGE FALLS JUST SHORT FOR WARRIORS AT HOME AGAINST CONCORDIA

November 02, 2024

A strong third period wasn't enough in the Warriors' 6-4 loss to Concordia on Nov. 2 in Big Boy Arena. The match began with Concordia establishing a decisive 4-0 lead by the end of the first period, extending to 5-1 in the second. However, the Warriors rallied vigorously in the finale, narrowing the gap significantly before Concordia sealed their victory.

The Warriors were just short of completing a comeback on the road at Concordia on Friday night, falling 6-4. After starting slow in the first period, RCU's offense found its stride in the second and third periods, scoring four goals quickly to threaten the Cardinal lead.
