NICHOLAS SPOGNARDI EARNS SECOND WHAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

LIVONIA, Mich. - In a release by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference earlier this afternoon, sophomore Warrior goalkeeper Nicholas Spognardi has earned his second career WHAC Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week award following his performances against Mercyhurst over the weekend.

Spognardi was stellar for the Warriors against Mercyhurst, logging a .940 save percentage on the weekend, including 36 saves in a 4-2 win on Nov. 22, his second career win. Spognardi tallied 43 saves on a .935 save percentage in the Warriors' 4-2 loss on Sunday afternoon. The goalie is the first Warrior hockey newcomer to earn two WHAC Player of the Week Awards in their debut season. 

The Warriors return to action on Dec. 6 against Cleary at 140 Ice Den.
