Over the weekend, the Warriors fell short in their two games against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. Five different Warriors scored goals in the action, with Jake Mullins adding two assists in the weekend's second game.
FIRST GAME - LTU AT RCU - 7-2
The Blue Devils started out hot on the ice against the Warriors in the first game of the series, with RCU conceding three goals in the opening period. RCU's first goal of the game came in the second period, when Kyle Banks and Cole Zalewski set up a connection with Mullins for a goal to make things 3-1. The Blue Devils tallied two more goals before Aidan Baker netted a shot to end the run. From there, the Blue Devils closed things out on RCU, scoring a goal in the third to make the final score 7-2.
SECOND GAME - RCU AT LTU - 3-8
The first period was a high-octane showing from both teams, with the Warriors nailing the first two goals. Banks took the puck from coast to coast early in the contest for the game's first goal. Six minutes later, it was Shaun Zatelli's turn, with Mullins and Kyle Hauer assisting. The Blue Devils responded with two goals at the end of the period to knot things up.
Momentum shifted in the Blue Devils' favor, as the hosts scored three unanswered goals to begin the second period before Banks and Mullins set up Zalewski on a power play opportunity to help the Warriors regroup. However, Lawrence Tech kept up the offensive pressure, scoring three more goals to ice the game at 8-3.
