WARRIORS SWEPT BY INDIANA TECH ON THE ROAD

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Warriors weren't able to pick up a win against reigning WHAC Tournament Champion Indiana Tech in their doubleheader on March 17, falling behind after a tough day at bat. Aidan Alspaugh led the Warriors on the day with two hits and one RBI in the second matchup.

THE RUNDOWN

The first game of the day saw RCU strike first with a home run by Alspaugh deep down center field. However, Indiana Tech responded to the homer with an RBI walk in the bottom of the first, before scoring six more unanswered runs from the second to the fourth inning. RCU had trouble striking the ball to answer the runs, not logging another hit until the sixth inning, where Tony Grazioli doubled down the left field line. The Warriors played a clean game fielding-wise, but hits proved to be the issue in a 7-1 loss.

The Warriors fell behind early in the second game, with the hosts scoring two runs after Warriors errors. Things continued to go against RCU's wishes in the next two innings, with Indiana Tech adding six runs to its lead. Jack LaRue hit a double to left center to try and get the Warriors into scoring position, but that was short-lived after a flyout. Alspaugh and Bateman logged RBIs in the sixth inning, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome a red-hot Indiana Tech.
