Bio
Dylan Benson enters his sixth year as a member of the Warriors' coaching staff. He works primarily with the pitching staff and also serves as the program's Recruiting Coordinator.
Benson graduated from Fenton High School in 2013 and played his first two years of college baseball at Mott Community College in Flint, MI. During his sophomore campaign with the Bears, he served as the team's closer, posting an impressive, team-leading 0.66 ERA, and also led the pitching staff in appearances, saves, and strikeouts per 9 innings. During his time at Rochester Christian, he also served as the team's closer, leading the team in saves during both of his years with the Warriors. During his senior year, Benson was named a team Battalion Leader.
COACH KUNERT ON BENSON:
"Dylan is as blue-collar a player as I have ever coached, and I knew that it would carry over into his coaching style when he joined our staff. He brings a different thought process and perspective to our coaching staff, coming from a successful baseball program at Mott, and constantly challenges what we are doing to make us better. He brings a tough, old-school mentality with new-school techniques to both our pitching staff and lineup. In his years playing under me and now coaching with me, I have seen tremendous growth from Dylan both as a coach and as a person. He is a true player's coach, building quality relationships with every player and pushing them to be better every day. We are very fortunate to have him be such a large part of our program."
