SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - It was a tough outing to start the 2024 campaign for the Warriors (0-1-0) against the Spring Arbor Cougars (1-0-0) on Saturday night, with the Warriors falling 0-11 after 90 minutes of play. An aggressive Spring Arbor offensive attack found openings in the Warrior defense and took advantage early on.
THE RUNDOWN
FIRST HALF
- The hosting Cougars jumped out to an early lead just minutes into the contest, scoring on a breakaway ball. The Warriors nearly found a quick response from midfielder Milos Stojakovic, firing a ball that went just wide right of the Spring Arbor post
- RCU continued to try to work out gaps in the Cougar defense, creating several corner-kick opportunities. However, the hosts continued to create chances. Another shot from Stojakovic went wide, and the Warriors went into halftime down by a wide margin
SECOND HALF
- Goals continued to come in for the Cougars to begin the second half, with RCU not able to create many chances. A few attacking opportunities were nearly seen through by the Warriors but ended up in an offside call
