Bio

Emma Fickel enters her second season at Warrior track and field helm while also serving as the lead assistant of the Warrior cross country program. The Warrior track and field program is very familiar to Fickel, who was RCU's first-ever female track and field signee back in 2016.

Fickel's first season leading the program was a highly successful one, coaching NAIA National Qualifiers in both the indoor and outdoor seasons - most notably the Warriors' first-ever female national qualifier in Heather Eller, who won the 2024 WHAC Championship for the 3000 m steeplechase event. Before being named head coach, Fickel coached the Warriors' first-ever track and field NAIA All-American, Andre Daniels, as an assistant.

Fickel's collegiate career saw her earn program records in four different events. She currently holds the Warrior record for the indoor distance medley relay. During her tenure, Fickel has coached multiple current program record holders, including the 1600 m indoor relay.

Fickel lives in the Rochester area with her two cats, Astral and Aurora. In her spare time, she likes to try new restaurants and coffee spots in the Detroit area.
