Game 1

Indiana Tech
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - It was a tough outing for the Warriors in their doubleheader at Indiana Tech on Saturday, with early runs putting RCU behind. After a tough first game, the Warriors were able to put up two runs in the second outing, but couldn't close the margin in time to make a comeback effort. Chloe Gildea led the Warriors in hits during the series, logging two hits and an RBI.
THE RUNDOWN
A four-run start by Indiana Tech put the Warriors behind after multiple errors in the first game, and the Warriors couldn't reign it in on the offensive end, having trouble finding hits. Gildea doubled in the top of the third, but the Warriors would strike out before being able to send a runner home. Indiana Tech added another run in the bottom of the second on a double to left field before RCU secured two fly-outs.
The hosts continued to add runs in the third inning, taking advantage of some RCU errors by logging base hits, pushing the score to 9-0 on RCU. Indiana Tech would add another run in the fourth inning, ending the game with a 10-0 lead in the fifth inning.
Indiana Tech stayed hot in the batter's box, opening the second game with six runs in the first inning. RCU recovered defensively in the bottom of the second inning securing three quick fielding outs. That defensive stretch set up two runs for the Warriors in the third inning, created by Payton Parrish, who tripled to center field. Jessica Laird secured the run for the Warriors with a double to center field. Two at-bats later, Gildea singled to right field to reward Laird with a run.
Indiana Tech grew their lead in the bottom of the third, scoring another six runs thanks to four doubles in the inning, hitting three hard hits straight down the left field line to score runs and push their lead to 10. The Warriors couldn't get the hits going again from there, with the game ending at 12-2 in five innings.
