WARRIORS RETURN HOME TO HOST LOURDES AT GARTH PLEASANT ARENA
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - After a long road trip away from home, Warrior women's basketball returns to take on the Lourdes Gray Wolves at Garth Pleasant Arena on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The Warriors look to bounce back from a road loss to Cornerstone last Wednesday, while the Gray Wolves enter conference play on a 2-0 start.
THREE KEY THINGS
GRAY WOLVES OFF TO HOT START
At 6-1 overall, the Lourdes Gray Wolves are off to one of their best starts in program history. That start includes two wins over WHAC opponents Defiance and Madonna, with the Gray Wolves holding a +43 point differential in those two games. Those two games aren't the only ones where the Gray Wolves have won big, as Lourdes has won all but one game by at least 16 points.
TWO-WAY BATTLE
Both teams bring in talented players on both sides of the ball - RCU has seen contributions from various players, including 15 points by guard Samone Andrews in the Warriors' Cornerstone matchup and the paint presence of Melanie Moore and Tambre Williams. For the Gray Wolves, look out for Macie Stringfellow and Emma Pedroza, who have won a WHAC Player of the Week award in the last two weeks.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Warriors have been battle-tested on the road to start the season, with only two of their seven regular season games played at home. For RCU, the energy in Garth Pleasant Arena has paid dividends, with the Warriors going 17-9 at home in the last three seasons.
SPORTS INFORMATION SPOTLIGHT
The Warriors are 14-3 all-time against the Gray Wolves, going 7-1 in games at home. Last season, RCU took home the win 88-78.
AROUND THE CONFERENCE
It's too early to start making conference predictions, but five teams currently stand at 2-0 in WHAC play—the Gray Wolves are one of them.
