WARRIORS TROUNCE MICHIGAN-DEARBORN
DEARBORN, Mich. - The Warriors played one of their finest games of the season on Thursday afternoon, defeating the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines 88-60. RCU started the game with a 25-7 first quarter and never looked back. Samone Andrews and Jacey Somers combined for 42 points, with Andrews shooting 8-11 from the field while passing five assists. Forward Melanie Moore posted a 12-12 double-double to help the Warriors seal the win.
THE RUNDOWN
RCU got to work out the gate, forcing several Michigan-Dearborn turnovers and converting on the other end. Whenever RCU's defense broke down, multiple Warriors would fly to the ball and prevent easy looks for the Wolverines. Andrews and Somers were focal points in the RCU offense, creating chances by causing turnovers and knocking down shots at an efficient clip. Andrews and Somers shot 6-6 combined from three.
Shahd Bakkar also made a considerable impact, with the point guard grabbing 10 rebounds, including two on the offensive glass. Moore was also a key presence in the paint, pulling down three offensive boards and scoring on tip-ins. Seven Warriors scored off the bench, with forward Emily Lockey contributing eight points, four rebounds, and three assists to keep RCU's momentum up.
