SOMERS NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM; ANDREWS ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM IN WHAC SEASON AWARDS

LIVONIA, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference has released its 2024-25 women's basketball season awards, with RCU's Jacey Somers taking home a WHAC Second Team All-Conference nomination and Samone Andrews receiving a nod for the WHAC All-Freshman Team. Five Warriors are named to the WHAC All-Academic Team, and RCU graduate senior Angelina Haisha is the Warriors' Champions of Character Team selection for this season.

Somers' selection is the second of her career, following a season where the sophomore forward averaged 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. Somers' season was highlighted by a dominant 35 point, six assist, six rebound, and six block performance in the Warriors' 88-75 win over the Cleary Cougars on Feb. 22 - the second-highest single-game scoring performance in RCU program history.

Andrews earns her All-Freshman nod after posting averages of 9.7 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest. Andrews' final eight games of the season saw the freshman standout average 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per contest.
