WARRIORS SHUT OUT BY #RV MARIAN

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Warriors couldn't get the offense going in a matchup with the #RV Marian Knights on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Rochester High School, falling 18-0. Turnovers plagued the Warriors against a stingy Knights defense, with the Warriors struggling to clear the ball. Goalkeeper Kendall Cabot logged a season-high 10 saves in the contest.

THE RUNDOWN

The Warriors put forth a physical defensive effort in the first quarter, forcing five Marian turnovers and seven missed shots. However, early turnovers made the difference in the quarter, with the Knights scoring multiple goals in transition to put RCU down 5-0. In the second quarter, the Knights began to find their stride, scoring seven goals to push the lead to 12-0. The Warriors had trouble finding shooting chances in the first half, with the Knights forcing turnovers inside their 30 to stymy full-field runs by RCU.

In the second half, the Warriors' offense started to open up, getting two shots off while holding Marian to four. However, foul trouble was an issue for RCU, which gave up potential clock violations after holding the Knights to late-clock situations. The Knights added three goals in the third quarter before tacking on three more in the fourth behind transition opportunities.
