
VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO #25 INDIANA TECH 3-1
FORT WAYNE, IN - Volleyball (2-8, 0-1) was downed 3-1 by #25 Indiana Tech (7-2, 1-0) on Monday night in the Schaefer Center. Indiana Tech was able to get out to a strong start, utilizing big runs to take the first two sets. Rochester would take the third set, but ultimately fell short in the fourth.
Rochester had trouble finding momentum in the first two games, with Indiana Tech jumping out to an 11-5 lead early on in the first. Rochester would bring things a little closer with a block by seniors Darcy Bennin and Olivia Francis, but Indiana Tech would go out on a 7-2 run to close out the opener.
In the second, things opened up closer, with Rochester and Tech tied at 12-12 behind plays from freshmen Kourtney Mack and Ashley Horne. However, Tech found a spark and went on an 11-3 run to pull ahead. Late plays from sophomores Charlotte Warner and Mackenzie Keefer wouldn't be enough for RU to get back into it.
Rochester found a bright spot in the third game, with Mack, Francis, and junior Reagan McGregor earning early kills. Warner continued to assist, with senior Gabby Costello supporting defensively with multiple digs. RU would go on a 7-3 run to pull ahead, capped off by a block from Bennin. Costello and McGregor would connect to secure the third, 25-18.
After going down 3-0 to open the fourth, Tech would find its footing, going on a 7-1 run to recapture the lead. After Francis and Bennin responded with kills to lower the deficit, a 6-2 run would allow Tech to pull ahead. The momentum continued to trend Tech's way, with the game ending on an 11-5 run.

Rochester returns to Garth Pleasant Arena on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7:00 PM, where the team will host the Madonna Crusaders (3-2, 0-0).
