WARRIORS SWEPT BY SIENA HEIGHTS AT HOME
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - A high-flying affair between the Warriors (4-9, 0-4) and the Siena Heights Saints (9-3, 4-1) ended in favor of the Saints 3-0 on Friday night at Garth Pleasant Arena. The Warriors were led on the attacking front by junior hitter Hailee Mancogna with seven kills.
THE RUNDOWN
FIRST GAME - 21-25 SIENA HEIGHTS
- Mancogna and the Warriors found themselves in a point-trading battle early on in the first set, with middle Chante Hudgins and outside hitter Alyssa Swanson joining in on the action. The Warriors continued to add points with some defensive highlights, including a block by Swanson and freshman Alivia Everitt. Swanson joined Hudgins for another block to keep the Warriors close, but the Saints pushed ahead with a late 5-1 run to take the game
SECOND GAME - 18-25 SIENA HEIGHTS
- The Saints were off to a red-hot start in the second game, leading the Warriors 9-1 before RCU found its footing. Hudgins and Everitt helped the Warriors find momentum and climb back in it with two kills. Midway through the game, RCU got two big blocks to bring the game within three, but the Saints made a big push to secure a second win
THIRD GAME - 21-25 SIENA HEIGHTS
- The Warriors were out to a much stronger start thanks to a well-rounded attacking effort, beginning with a kill from sophomore Kourtney Mack. The Saints pushed ahead with a brief run to take a five-point lead, ballooning it to eight to seemingly put the Warriors out of reach. However, the Warriors went on a huge 5-0 run behind Mack and Everitt. Despite the run, a timely push from the Saints ended the match 3-0
