WARRIORS FALL SHORT WITH ERRORS AGAINST SIENA HEIGHTS

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Warriors (7-20, 0-14) lost in three games to the Siena Heights Saints (18-5, 11-3) on Saturday afternoon. Errors plagued the Warriors in the contest, as RCU committed 19 to the Saints' six. Outside hitter Kourtney Mack led the Warriors in kills with ten.

THE RUNDOWN

FIRST GAME - 15-25 SIENA HEIGHTS

  • The Warriors kept things even for the games' first rallies, with Mack earning kills during three of the Warriors' first five points. RCU began to fall behind when the Saints' Melina Hanes logged two consecutive service aces, which shifted momentum in the favor of the Saints. After kills by Mack and Chante Hudgins, the Saints started to find their stride offensively, going on a 5-1 run to grow a lead. Despite the Warriors' best efforts, the Saints continued to add points and took the first game

SECOND GAME - 15-25 SIENA HEIGHTS

  • The Saints continued their first-game momentum and built an early lead on the Warriors, who saw kills come in from Mack and senior Emily Carroll. Kills from the Saints' Emalee Maesch added to the Warrior deficit, and Siena Heights went on multiple mini-runs to keep the Warriors behind. Sporadic kills wouldn't be enough for the Warriors, and the Saints headed into the third with a 2-0 lead

THIRD GAME - 11-25 SIENA HEIGHTS

  • The Saints weren't slowing down, going on a run early in the third set to put the Warriors behind by a wide margin early. A few kills by Mack and Madelyn Geisenhaver halted the Siena Heights runs momentarily, but errors continued to prevent the Warriors from making any major dent in the Saints' lead. Siena Heights would end the match on a 5-0 run

STAT OF THE GAME

Following this contest, Hudgins surpassed the 500 career kills mark.
