WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CONFERENCE AWARDS RELEASED; HUDGINS EARNS SECOND TEAM NOMINATION
LIVONIA, Mich. - In a release by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference league office on Thursday morning, the 2024 Women's Volleyball WHAC awards have been released. RCu is headlined by middle blocker Chante Hudgins, who earned a Second Team All-Conference nomination following a stellar debut season for the Warriors. Fellow middle blocker Alivia Everitt was recognized on the WHAC All-Freshman team, also showcasing impressive numbers in her inaugural collegiate season. Senior Emily Carroll was recognized as the Warriors' Champions of Character representative.
In 30 match appearances, Hudgins logged 179 kills and 110 blocks, leading the Warriors in the latter category during the season. Notably, Hudgins was fourth in the WHAC in blocks per set, averaging 1.09. In a match against Judson (IL) on Sept. 28, the junior logged an RCU program-record nine solo blocks. Everitt appeared in 27 matches for the Warriors, scoring 118 kills and 48 total blocks.
