Bio
Scott Kunert enters his ninth season at the helm of the Warrior baseball program. During his time at RCU, he coached one A.I.I. All-Conference player, one A.I.I. Gold Glove winner, three WHAC All-Conference players, one WHAC Gold Glove winner, eighteen WHAC All-Academic players, fourteen NAIA Scholar-Athletes, five USCAA All-Americans, eighteen USCAA Academic All-Americans, and one USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year. During his first season, Kunert led RCU to its highest USCAA coach’s poll ranking at #2 and best finish at the USCAA Small College World Series (3rd) in five years.
Kunert played collegiate baseball at RCU as an infielder and pitcher. During his four years, the Warriors made the USCAA Small College World Series three times. After his junior year, Kunert was named a USCAA All-American Honorable Mention and A.I.I. All-Conference Honorable Mention, primarily serving as the team's closer. During his career at RCU, Kunert also earned USCAA Academic All-American three times and NAIA Scholar-Athlete twice. Perhaps his greatest baseball accomplishment, however, came after the conclusion of his senior year when he earned the USCAA's inaugural Student-Athlete of the Year Award.
In addition to coaching at Rochester Christian, Kunert has served as an assistant coach with the Michigan Brewers (2015) and the Oakland Bulldogs (2015-present) organizations.
Kunert earned his Bachelor's degree from RCU (then Rochester College) in December 2015 in Secondary Education, with a focus on Mathematics and a minor in Biology. He and his wife, Chelsea, currently reside in Warren, MI.
